This timer has a loop on the back so that You can thread a chain through it and wear it around your neck. It has a stand that you can slide out from the back to set it upright. The magnets on the back are very strong so it won't fall off. refrigerator door every time you open or close it. It has an on/off switch on the side so you don't waste battery when you're not using it. Only one AAA battery is required. The battery cover is not thin, so there is no need to seal it with tape. The alarm is pleasantly loud, not crazy like a smoke detector. This is a medium/high chirp BEE-BEE-BEE BEEEPP, , , , , , , BEE-BEE-BEE-BEEEPP. and it takes 60 seconds or until you press any key. If you have normal hearing and are close to him, you will hear him. If he's in another room with the TV on, probably not. I bought it because I want to quickly set a timer and snooze the alarm when I'm taking 15 minute breaks and 30 minute lunches at work. I work from home and although I have a very comfortable environment, for salary reasons and by law I have to come and go for lunch. When you work from home, it's easy to lose time, get distracted, or just forget to go back. I tried the timer on my smartphone, but it's too easy to accidentally close this program or not hear it at all because I'm on the phone. This is Renwyn. Rhymes with Lil Wayne, in Maine, pouring rain, hip pain, madness, in the brain. Wrenvan!
