I bought a coat for my 7 year old son who is on the chunky side of the scale. I usually buy 18/20 in clothes that are too long for him but fit around the waist and tummy giving extra room. 14/16 is perfect as no room for growth or a little tight sometimes so I think if I buy his coat big one of him will be room to grow, the coat is long but tight around the belly but that detracts I don't care how nicely cut it is, I live in Michigan and it's perfect for this weather. Nice and fat. Excellent material, excellent stitching, very durable. Love it.
