I love knitting in the round. What I didn't like was the number of circular needles I had to buy and the cost of replacing them and the mess in the drawer I kept them in. I should have bought them 30 years ago. They are light and encourage me to take on bigger projects. I will never use my straight needles again. The weight of the sweater or scarf rests on my knees, not on the needles. This cord set has enough cord length to knit a large men's sweater (2x) from worsted yarn in the round on size 9 needles. (300 stitches) Circular knit eliminates side seams, increases comfort and simplifies the look of the finished sweater. Experienced knitters know this. I also currently use smaller cords and twist the ends to hold the stitches for the sleeves. They are so light that I hardly notice them. I like to knit more and travel everywhere with my gear. I was stopped at the airport once, but since the needles are small and made of wood, I guess they didn't see me as a threat.
