I think it's easier to give everyone a piece of metal for 5 cents than to recall all the old broken dishwashers. 99/100 times people would just throw it away. Installation is easy. The new seal is very flexible and easy to assemble. Simply push the seal into the groove running from the outside. don't stretch! As mentioned in the description, this is an improved version, made more durable by adding an extra layer of rubber and increasing the thickness of the "arrows" inserted into the grooves. Big improvement over the previous model. After installation, you may have extra length (several inches in most cases); it can be easily cut with a knife or scissors.
