Just received a 78" magnetic Vulcan. Excellent build quality and very accurate, but doesn't it look like one of the engineers actually tried to use this level? They stretched the middle and left the handles and plumb at the extremes of the 6ft 6" level. I'm 5'11" and can't see the plumb even when I'm on my tiptoes with the handlebars too high (splayed). Who has eyes 6ft 3in high enough to look into the Plum Viewer? This is door height and I couldn't imagine having to look in 6ft 3in all day to see a plumb or side view of the same vial and the handles too far from the ends. Cabinets, it is not even possible to lift them by the handles. They're too close to the ends to use with one hand, and they're 53 inches apart, making grabbing both ridiculously far apart. Kapro makes great levels with great guarantees, but now I have to look elsewhere for a jamming kit. I sent the Apollo silencer back as none of the magnets hit any of the loops and this Vulcan only hits the top one, but still something. My experience is that most contractors basically hang curtained doors all day and need the magnets to hit the hinges. Especially when hanging French finished doors. Move the handles and bottles to the center so that an average height person can use them. I generally like the Kapro levels, they are very accurate and very cheap. I particularly like the K-Rail design. It makes this range of spirit levels more powerful and durable thanks to beautiful full-length handrails. I've picked up a few empires as shown in my pics and they are of decent level. unfortunately the milled surfaces are too rough and i don't see any blue bubbles in the blue water with blue lines! I don't know what they were thinking. So unless Kapro makes a change very quickly, I'll unfortunately have to look to Johnson's or another brand. Stabilla and Milwaukee are great but very expensive. Kapro matches them in build quality but not in price. I wish this level was better thought out. The second picture shows the vial at the bottom of the layer. The height of this upside down thing is 6 feet 4 inches. If I keep this thing, I'll have to have surgery on my neck!
