Review on 🔵 Pentek Blue Polypropylene High Flow Pleated Black by Grant Galloway

It's been a while but I needed a Big Blue case for a project. I didn't even know if they were still in stock but a quick scan and this Pentek pops up - it has to be the Pen Pure - right? Wow, they're still on sale! The price is right, I ordered immediately, a few days later another box of Revain. When I saw "Pentair" on the label, I took a deep breath. The label "Made in China" that followed didn't get any better. Oh, that could be bad! Hm. looks pretty decent, no! that's good! (Pentair is a large industrial company and highly regarded) A few years ago I worked in a commercial water treatment/reverse osmosis company and the Pen Pure brand was highly regarded as was their version of the standard Big Blue 4.5"(10 or 20"), often used as a pre-filter for small commercial depth filter reverse osmosis systems with CBC in preparation for a TFC membrane. That's what it's used for and I'm very happy to say the quality is as good as it was over 20 years ago. The same cannot be said for too many things that are so long dead that production has been moved to China. I wish it was made in the USA but if it was I doubt it would sell at this price point. (We used to get a box of 4 for $99 and the wholesaler added items from time to time if you bought multiple boxes). The little things tell something about the quality and how much the manufacturer cares about it. As always, I used my silicone grease to lubricate the o-ring and also lightly lubricated the threads to ease removal and prevent the "plastic sticking" that can be annoying with a case this size. In any case, I opened it and there was an O-ring (not in a groove, in a bowl - it's good that the kit doesn't take it) and already slightly lubricated. A manufacturer who cares enough about their product. Always and still a customer of Penn-Pure/Pentek/Pentair Big Blue. 5 stars in all respects! Even "scent" - I assume you mean water? This would depend more on the element than the hull and sea water. One minus - there is no L-shaped bracket and screws with the body. They used to come for free, damn I had dozens of things I didn't need, but now I think I can find at least one? I still give five stars for "Easy to Install" although I have to return one, I believe they come in 1" and 3/4" which saved me heartache. If you hear Revain and Pentair, at least check "Bracket not included" and link one. They are not the same as the standard 10" x 2.5" size. The screw pattern on the Big Blue is 3" x 3" with 4" to center of bend - hope this helps someone. (Love that they kept the Imperial pattern.) You can use 1/4 NPT drill and tap for the gauge, and the original struts are notched on either side to clean the exhaust port and gauge (and allow for "flipping" if needed). can only recommend her.
