I am a racing cyclist. This mirror attaches to my aero bars at the end closest to my knee, with the mirror next to the dropout (so it extends past my legs). I admit this is an odd position. It certainly won't mount to anything else on the bike as everything else is too wide and the mounting bracket offers little to no flex. The mounting bracket and other hardware are solid and easily adjustable, and the glass is clear and flat (so no distortion). However, the mirror itself vibrates excessively. No amount of tightening will fix this. If my bike ever falls on its left side, the glass will likely shatter. Adjusting the mirror closer to the frame would probably prevent this, but then the view would be obscured by my left foot. Other mirrors I've tried vibrate a lot less but tend to fail after 1000-2000 miles (or so) of driving. . This one probably won't fail (assuming I don't drop the bike). Time will tell if the vibration renders it useless. In general, I like my helmet mirror a lot more since it doesn't vibrate and I can point it where and when I want. (The problem with the helmet mount is that the mirror often breaks and the swivel function on the mirror becomes too weak over time.)
