Okay, this product works as advertised. Performance issue when using more than 5 wireless cameras as the video streams become severely laggy and unusable afterwards. Be careful that this DVR can send videos to your phone or send you email alerts due to motion detection. etc., you need to connect to the router with a wired Ethernet cable. I have a commercial grade firewall/router that I built based on the pfsense software. This DVR routinely issues serious threat alerts from Suricata/Snort packets using new threat rule sets from ET Open. Simply put, this thing sends/receives packets of information from China that match intrusion patterns. Is it a back door? Does it already have malware on it? Who knows. It sends your video stream to servers in China and then streams that video back to your phone. Scary things you won't know unless you're tech savvy or have a cheap consumer router (99.9% of you reading this).
