Review on Powerful Craftsman CMXPTSG1003NB Red & Black Air Impact Wrench by Bob Walters

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It's okay. good for me

After using this impact for 8 months at a Toyota dealer, here are my thoughts:Pros:-It's extremely lightweight, making it easy to use all day without making your arm tired.-Removes lugnuts relatively easily at a pretty high rate of speed.Cons:-The button is like a literal on/off switch, even if you push the button in slightly, the impact has either full power or it doesn't engage at all-The anvil doesn't stop fast enough on its own, making it so when you let go of the trigger, it still rotates for a significant amount of time. This makes it annoying when removing lugnuts because it will send them flying if you don't grab them fast enough.-While you can use this impact for jobs other than tires, it's definitely not optimal. Removing suspension parts requires a lot of effort with this impact and takes up valuable time.-Pricing isn't great for what you get. At this price range you can get so many other brands that have more powerful impacts. One brand that comes to mind is Earthquake. Earthquake is a Harbor Freight brand, however, for about the same price, they offer an impact that has 1200 footlbs of breakaway torque. I bought it recently and the difference between it and the Craftsman is night and day.-For those that worry about paint and looks, the paint started fading off months ago, but the overall construction of the impact is alright, not perfect, but alright.

Pros
  • With its compact size, the wrench is easy to store and transport, ensuring that it's always on hand when needed
Cons
  • May not be the best solution for users who need advanced features and functions
