Not comparable to other watercolor paper for student classes

As I progress with watercolor painting, I hear/read one thing again: paints can be cheap, brushes can be cheap, but you need good paper. It's not very good paper. Watercolor works differently depending on the quality and texture of the paper. Cellulose paper, also known as pulp, is not as delicate as more expensive cotton paper. But as I'm learning, the less expensive student work has its place in exercises and preliminary sketches. Today I decided to compare my work side by side. I have this Bee paper, Strathmore 300 and 400 (both pulp), Cason XL student grade, and Arches cold pressed cotton. which is considered to be the best paper on the market. Everyone claims it's 140 pounds of paper. This comparison made me write this review. Of all the student jobs, B is the worst. First, all the other papers are clearly the same weight and thickness, and didn't warp even with the slightest addition of color. Bee paper is quite thinner than others to the eye and touch. I even had to double check that it wasn't ยฃ90 and it wasn't. Bee paper warped even with a small application of paper that hadn't even been washed with water. The problem with this work (and some other student work) is that even simple exercises don't work properly and can be frustrating. You might even feel not being able to master the basics. I tried practicing flatwork and all I got was a stained mess. I decided to donate an expensive Arches sheet to see if it was me or the paper. My fills on the arches were nice and flat. I'm not saying you should do all your work on the most expensive paper to begin with, but experiment with other student papers that work better than this one. It's difficult to make progress in watercolor if you never experience what the medium is capable of. . In my comparison, the Strathmore 300 and 400 are much better in that order. You get what you pay for. if you never experience what this environment is capable of. . In my comparison, the Strathmore 300 and 400 are much better in that order.
