8 weeks: collar works most of the time. If your dog is running up a hill or two or is active (not to mention rough play) it may not last longer than the time you bring him back now. I wish I had bought it somewhere other than Revain where you have 90 days to return items. If you don't mind turning it on every few minutes or once or twice per walk, it will still get the job done. I bought another one from Fashion&cool and would have preferred this one: Fashion&cool LED night safety collar, USB rechargeable and adjustable collars with light for dogs of all sizes, red 6 weeks on update: the collar worked great and "works" always still, but if the dog runs or shakes its head, it shuts off. It's easy enough to turn it back on and often stays on for most of the outing, but it seems to be shorting out. I could buy another one, but I could consider another manufacturer of the product. This is perfect for what it should be used for - a light to let others know where your dog is in the dark. First, it's not a "collar" that you tie a leash to. Second, this is a colored tube (I have a green one) with white LEDs inside. If you clearly understand these two points, you should buy it for its intended purpose. A friend has a dog that he walks in the big park at night and swore it was the best investment he'd made. I saw it in action and decided to buy it for my dog. The collar trimming instructions are very clear. You will need to cut between the LED lights with the lights off. If you can follow these simple instructions, you should be able to resize in about 3 seconds. It's not that easy to take apart once it's sized correctly (it would have annoyed me otherwise) so I sized it to fit loosely around my dog's neck and of course I still use that real collar when I take my dog for a walk. Her dog was seen at night. If you need an LED collar that you can attach a leash to, look elsewhere. If you're obsessed with different colors of light, look elsewhere. Once you understand what that thing is, you'll be happy with it.
