My neighbors have had dogs for 14 years and they do almost nothing for them. Sure, they'll eat and scavenge after you, but they don't interact with them, so they tend to bark a lot, mostly to get attention. Well, sometimes it can be annoying, especially when I'm trying to sleep. Well this little gadget solved my problem. I even made the dogs bark on purpose just to make sure it was actually doing its job and I was surprised to see the dogs stop barking less than a few seconds after turning it on. Well, as far as battery life goes, I don't care as long as it gets the job done!
