Review on 🔵 Cycra Probend CRM 1-1/8" Handlebar Blue by Justin Reedy

Suitable for Yamaha WR450F

I bought this product for my 2013 Yamaha WR450F dirt bike. Because I'm slow and only slightly inclined to the mechanics, the installation took me about 2 hours. In general the product works. I haven't traveled with this product yet, but it seems that the installed product will work "in the field". A few of my friends use the same product on their bikes and recommend buying ONLY the Cycra Probeend versions. Now that I respect their opinion and ride in dense forests, I figured I'd try a little more C-Note. Cycra Probed CRM for 1-1/8" Handlebars, White. Installation instructions were minimal but could have been more detailed with pictures! Man, not everyone is such a fat monkey. But I digress. I've really only had two issues with of installation. One of them mixed up the left and right sides, so I recommend taking a magic marker and marking "L" and "R" on both the main metal arm and the clips, this will help you discourage you from changing them. It is recommended to install the black plastic cap with probe mark and the blue/white/red etc. plastic handguard cap on the metal arm before installing the metal arm on the bike, my rubber handlebar grips. It may seem obvious, says that this needs to be done but nowhere says it should be done. The limited instructions only say that some modifications need to be made to the handlebars. Well yes! The clutch side only needs pilot drilling for the left end of the rod is inserted into the left handle. However, the dipstick could not be fully inserted as it would bind/touch the clutch lever and/or clutch cable adjustment knob. The right side required more effort. The throttle grip had to be hollowed out with a drill and drill bits used to drill holes in wood. I ended up drilling a 1/2" hole in the plastic throttle grip so I could insert the end of the rod into the grip. Another problem I had was that I couldn't fully tighten the screw since the split one Nut at the end of the bolt gradually expands as the bolt is screwed further into the handle and catches on the inside of the handle On the clutch side this was not a problem as the crank does not turn, but on the throttle side the throttle knob turns not unless you tighten the bolt all the way so I loosened the bolt a bit and sprayed some lithium grease in the throttle body to get the throttle back after turning.Another downside is that I had to forego the Yamaha foam padding that came with the throttle body .Bike It closes the triple clamps However it could not be put back on the bike with the Cycra system installed become. Due to the inability to reuse my foam pad and the fact that there was little room for my clutch lever and other knobs and bits, I gave this product a 4th star instead of five. I pounded on the installed bars and plastics as if my hands were tree branches. I found that the tightened clamp screws were not fully tightened. So I tightened them. This happened a couple of times before the bolts no longer needed tightening. I hope they don't come loose on the trails or else I'll have to use blue thread glue.
