So many rave reviews for this ThermoPro TP-16 digital food thermometer with large LCD display. So it's incredible. I had a similar Taylor block for a few years but it eventually passed. Despite all the accolades for the ThermoPro, it seemed like it hit the spot. I liked that the probe could withstand higher temperatures and had a lifetime replacement guarantee. Before using it for the first time, I lightly cleaned the probe by hand, taking care not to get water on it. Went to using the device for his first run in a chicken I baked i.nada. ZIP Code Nothing. DOA. The sensor does not register a temperature. Nothing. The front doesn't even show numbers, although other controls and indicators work. It's useless if it doesn't show the temperature. I'm sick of being inundated with fragile Chinese electronics that wither and die so easily. Avoid like the plague.
