Review on πŸ”§ Dorman Vibration Dampener for Dodge / Freightliner Turbocharger Models - Turbocharger Model 904-303 by Tommy Rao

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks good. Better than stock!

Installed one of these on my 2004 van and am very happy with the build. The seam seems very strong. The stitching on the original was clearly torn, and the van went into "idle" mode 4 times (including 1 time on the Autobahn! 8-O). I wanted to try the $139 bypass unit and decided against it as there might be a reason a German engineer installed this in the intake tract. Also, I can buy 2 almost 1/2 times more and I haven't heard of any of them failing. Not bad when installed. If using a creeper, recommend jacking it up and using jack stands, or have your mechanic do it for you. Use a 1/4" flat socket (I didn't have one) for the top bolt or a flat ratchet. The bottom screw was NP and exposed. The top was PITA. This is an odd (to me) type of external torx fastener that may require me to invest in sockets. All tools are 11 pcs. INTERNAL E-TORX (Star) SOCKETS set with RAIL E4 - E20. Maybe he's still not inconspicuous enough to get there. I was able to pull the old block through the top without removing anything (it's a bit tight) and insert the new one. I wiped the inside surfaces. and put a few drops of engine oil on the o-ring before installing and it snapped into place fairly easily. so far great!
