Review on πŸ”΄ StrongHero3D PETG Filament for 3D Printers - 1 by Ryan Hampton

But started ok.

So I took a chance; I've never heard of Filament but someone else recommended it and it was a good deal at around $15. I've seen bad reviews about it being a flat gray rather than metallic. It's actually good, I WANTED a flat gray. It turned out to be a pretty darn metallic color, just like the description says, more of a bronze gray sort of thing than shiny silver/silk. The first half of the role seemed pretty good. Remember I've been typing 24 hours a day lately. A few days later, about halfway through, it got bad. It had such a weird, brittle, fibrous, flaky texture, and it broke easily and repeatedly clogged my hot end and nozzle. Eventually I had to disassemble, clean and reassemble the entire hotend. Flake/fibers got stuck in my extruder gears and I had to clean them out. Back then it was only a few days out of the sealed plastic packaging. In no case did it absorb moisture. I got some really good prints but once it started to deteriorate, 3 prints in a row, it kept printing for hours just messing up the machine. I finally pulled it out and tried another brand (esun) to see if it was filament or machine. It was 100% this thread.

Pros
  • Propose to print a small thing, more than 12 colors in an hour
Cons
  • unreliable
