Mine was accurate straight out of the box, reading a weight of 50.00. I can, but I hope the included weight is better done than batteries that are half dead right out of the box. Where is the world headed if you can't count on China to make a world-class product? It's hard to fault for $16, I think the battery cover could be more secure, but other than that it's pretty good. Update: There are other 50g weights out there and the scale shows it as 50.04 so I think this is a more than accurate enough scale and calibration weight for its typical use. whatever it is
