I gave this unit 5 stars because it fits perfectly on the back of my modem and because even with shipping it's cheaper than other similar suppressors. I have no idea how well this will work, nor do I want to know, no matter how the cable gets routed to my house, through the trees and my neighbors' yard, I'm sure I'll find out soon because that's it third modem. Bought from Raven. I bought two of these. One for the modem and one for outside. It is of high quality and has a secure and watertight cuff at each end. Update: So today is 6/20/18 and I am updating my report. I bought it on January 31, 2016 and survived some severe thunderstorms. For the past week we've been hitting hard and hitting very hard. Cable internet no longer works. This is a device installed in an external cable box. I believe this saved me a lot of dollars when buying new hardware. I will be buying a replacement soon as I still have the second one installed on the back of the modem. I can recommend this device from my own experience with a clear conscience.
