If the dishwasher does not drain, this is probably the cause. I took the old pump off to clean and inspect and although it made noise the water just wouldn't pump. I should have disassembled it further for better analysis, but I was just happy to empty the dishwasher again. The whole process takes about an hour if you include the time to get the tools out, empty the dishwasher cup by cup and not. unfamiliar with the bottom of the dishwasher. It's literally two electrical connectors, a worm drive terminal and two spring terminals. I think my biggest disappointment was ONE of the spring clamps which took 5 minutes because I may have used the wrong pliers.
