This radio can be simple or more complex to use; it just depends on how far you want to delve into its capabilities. We enjoyed using them when hunting in the high desert. Reception and transmission were excellent; It's easy to triple the radios we've used before. We tried at least six different models of FRS/GMRS radios in the same area and they were all disappointing. Botan was able to set up his own amateur repeater on this trip. The ability to connect and use the listed repeaters greatly extends the range. The volume is excellent. The controls are fairly easy once you get a little practice with them. From what I've read and heard, Revain's salespeople are very helpful with support and with questions.
