We bought this to hang next to the litter box. We have four cats and they usually take out so much trash that we have to sweep it up every 2-3 days. I chose this set because the bristles line up with the brush handle - we have another set. where the bristles are perpendicular to the handle. The position of the bristles in line with the handle allows you to sit down so you don't have to lean too far to sweep. In practice, however, I don't think it matters because this brush is so small. The gray area is slightly shorter than the width of a typical hand. This doesn't detract from use very much, however, since the brush is so big that you usually only hold it between your index finger and thumb. The brush attaches to the shovel with a well-made plastic hook. The hook is very strong and I'm not afraid it will ever break. Both the handle and shovel have a hole in the end that I use to hang from a nail. The bristles are full and of good stiffness. It sweeps dirt well without flinging it across the room and without requiring extra movements to pick it up. The rubber on the bottom is nice and firm, but soft enough to grip the floor well. Mine arrived perfectly straight and even. I am very pleased with the scoop set and would have no hesitation in buying another one or recommending it to a friend - just be aware that it is quite small compared to most scoop sets you will find. in the shop.
