Review on 🌷 Tulip 20404 Soft Fabric Paint 4oz: Elegant Matte Ebony Shade for Textile Projects by Kelly Caballes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

High quality white fabric paint although there are a few things to note.

This was purchased for a cosplay I wore earlier this month and overall I think it did the task I was given pretty well (i.e. coloring the black jumpsuit to match resembles the character's outfit), but there are a few complaints. What are the advantages? It works well as a fabric paint, I haven't noticed the color washing off or fading or anything like that and as stated on the bottle it's quite soft and stretchy once dry! But there are a few things to consider. First of all, this color can dry gently because it is very runny and not the most opaque of all colors. When using it is absolutely obvious that there is a barrier behind the surface. it is worn because it can soak through the fabric; I painted it on a cotton nylon coverall and it almost completely spilled over to the other side. Also, if you want to get a really opaque color (like a really solid white shape that doesn't show the color of the fabric) with what you're painting, you'll need to apply multiple coats of paint. I think this material is best when you want to create a finish or use fabric paint to create a specific effect with paint. is considered matte in the sense that it doesn't look wet/shiny in the light and generally doesn't cling to the fabric as much or allow for the same size, but the Glacier color isn't 100% matte either. It's full of tiny tiny particles of sequins that in some cases give the color a shimmering effect (that's probably why it's called "glacial". It resembles the glitter of snow). Not particularly noticeable, but sparkles are there and visible in certain lighting conditions, especially if you paint with lighter layers (the more layers you apply, the finer the sparkles, but a light layer on a dark fabric will stand out). Color is quite suitable for the needs of most people. Personally I didn't find this particular type of paint suitable for my End All Be All project as I needed to cover very large areas with fully opaque shapes, but I should have realized that the "soft" Version of the paint doing this would be more liquid and easier to apply, cover to allow it to dry gently. I don't blame the color but myself because I expected it to perfectly coat hard black fabric in one go. as if it were thick oil paint on canvas while remaining very soft and flexible. The price is a bit high, but unless you're covering a large area with lots of layers, this bottle should do for multiple projects! Paint also has an odor, but it's not particularly strong or unpleasant (it just smells like paint, y'know?), and I wouldn't say it requires an open window, masks, or anything. that they perfectly coated hard black fabric in one go. as if it were thick oil paint on canvas while remaining very soft and flexible. Needs layers to be fully opaque, but works well!
