A very good loom for the blind if they have the patience and willingness to learn.

I bought this product to try for weaving. It looks like it's exactly what I was looking for. I have a Martha Stewart knitting and loom set (I actually bought three to fit all the pins, plus a few extra pieces). But I was looking for something to weave shapes with. This machine more than meets my expectations. I have read most of the reviews on this product. And one negative review said they didn't know how this loom got such good reviews. On the other hand, I don't understand how people can get such bad reviews. The pins are tight and secure. You have an unlimited number of braid ideas from square to circle and just about anything else you can think of. The loom takes time and removing the pins takes time after it's done, but overall this loom is great. As the title says I am blind so yes a visually impaired person can use it. I'm completely blind and I love it. Many complaints have been that this is not a frame loom so you can't see the back of the fabric. Actually, that's what I like about this loom. The fact that it is closed allows me not to lose the hook while picking up the threads with my fingers to insert the hook. I will say one thing. If you want more control over what you weave, this loom may or may not suit your needs. A wiring harness gives you more flexibility. But it is up to the user of the loom whether he likes it or not. I've had frame looms, small circular looms like cricket, and I've even worked on a large floor loom. Used for years and wish I had found it when it first came out. That would save me a lot of money. Please remember that when weaving you can use anything to hold the warp. The finished product depends on the pattern you choose. It doesn't matter which loom you use. The end result is always the same. Of course, you may need a smaller loom to sew parts, but I prefer it over larger looms. So it's really a personal preference.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
