works very well incredibly cheap will buy again

This screen works very well and is incredibly cheap. Many libraries are available. This is a very easy way to add a cheap GUI or display to your next project. And for the price indeed, why not > just be prepared for less than perfect work and materials. I just needed a very basic numeric or alphanumeric display and was considering an old school 7 segment or 14 segment display or LCD. character display. Since this little OLED display was actually cheaper than the other options, I decided to give it a try; I'm very glad I did. It's much more flexible than 14 segment or LCD characters and the text is really clear, bright and very legible. The only downside I encountered (as you'd expect from a $6 OLED screen) was the second-rate material/build quality. I had to desolder once (wanted to change the orientation of the connector I was using) and lost a pad in the process. it can be overcome, but it's a pain. So solder the pins/connectors and then leave them alone, this board doesn't like rework. All this to say that I will most likely buy one again whenever I need a simple and inexpensive display.

Pros
  • good product for its price
Cons
  • sad packaging
