Great 0.96 inch OLED display for your Arduino/RaspPi projects.

The display was well packaged in a sealed standard anti-static bag. User. The documentation was surprisingly good and informative. One thing to note is that the Arduino library recommended for use by the manufacturer was not available in the Arduino Library Manager. I ended up using Adafruit's SSD1306 and GFX libraries and had no problems. At this price point and with good screen quality I will definitely order again for future projects.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some errors

Great little screen!

This display is easy to hook up (four wires only), uses standard graphics program libraries, comes with clear instructions and has a very clear, high contrast display. Two colors are beautiful. This is essentially a monochrome display, but there are two areas of the screen with a color in each area. In my case it is yellow and blue. Thanks to OLED technology, it is very colorful. That's more than enough for menus and status display, and it's very easy to use, but you can't display a photo, forโ€ฆ

Well, if there weren't two problems.

If you use the recommended libraries, include enough memory that the Arduino Uno runs out of program memory. If you only want icons (no graphics), search "ArducamSSD1306" on GitHub and you'll find a lightweight icon library. There is no drawing of installation dimensions, at least I couldn't find them. That makes it difficult to use the display if you can't install it. As we chat, I print a test mount. I'll add that when it's up and running and give the dimensions. Okay, I entered that and itโ€ฆ

I'm all for paying Adafruit a premium price for products that offer tremendous value. Other products are offered as a link to a compatible product. With a little research, I realized I could save about a dollar or two. Bills of Materials (BOM) for several of my projects. I do a little research to decide which products I risk buying in bulk at a significant discount compared to some branded products. I'm looking for support tickets or scanning for C/C++ and/or MicroPython/CircuitPython mentionsโ€ฆ

Easy to use display and bright

I really liked this display. It is very easy to use and works quite well. It was connected to an Arduino Uno Wifi R2 and started working almost immediately. The only problem I had was that the version of Arduino I'm using has different SPI pins than regular Arduinos. Once I figured it out, it was very easy. The display is quite small, but very bright and clear. The display is not colored, but two-colored - orange at the top and blue at the bottom. You can also order a monochrome displayโ€ฆ

works very well incredibly cheap will buy again

This screen works very well and is incredibly cheap. Many libraries are available. This is a very easy way to add a cheap GUI or display to your next project. And for the price indeed, why not > just be prepared for less than perfect work and materials. I just needed a very basic numeric or alphanumeric display and was considering an old school 7 segment or 14 segment display or LCD. character display. Since this little OLED display was actually cheaper than the other options, I decided toโ€ฆ
