Great fire starter in lighters

A family member recommended this looftlighter for our Kamado Joe Jr. grill. I was outraged at the price but after using starter blocks and a different brand electric lighter I decided to try the 'real deal'. I don't apologize This is a great product for lighting charcoal. Chemical free, easy to use and gives great results. You MUST follow the instructions to get the most out of it. I bought a heavy duty extension cord as we don't have an outlet. This lighter consumes about 1500 watts. So if you must use an extension cord, get a good, heavy-duty, outdoor lighter. Place the charcoal of your choice a little further towards the center of the stack. Touch the Loftlighter directly to the tree and wait for the sparks and glow to appear. Immediately pull the lighter back a few inches while focusing on the same spot. This allows the fire to flare up quickly with a good burn rate. If you want to speed up the process a bit, you can light another section in the same way. You don't want the lighter touching wood for long periods of time as you could damage it. The fire will spread by itself. Time and temperature depend on how you use the grill. On Joe Jr. I close the lid after it's in use, with the top and bottom vents fully open, until it reaches the desired temperature. Then I adjust the control tower and bottom valve to steady myself. By the way, I am a 74-year-old woman who is completely unaware of this. If I can do it, so can you. I highly recommend the Looftlighter as a great BBQ accessory. Kamado grills pure pleasure!
