Summary: After I updated the drivers (with Windows update) and restarted the computer, the internet speed was much faster than the internal WiFi card in my laptop. . I've been using it for a few days now and will update the post if I have any more problems. I live in a big house and my main work station is far from my router. I have a powerful router (AC3200) and used the 2.4GHz channel to get the best speed over long distances. However, I had connection problems on my workstation. I was about to set up a hotspot router to get a stronger signal in my room when I realized I'd never had internet problems on my iPhone on my workstation. So I ran a lot of speed tests on my iPhone and on my computer. This finally made me realize that the speed on my iPhone was much better than on my laptop (which uses an Intel AC 3165 wireless card). Under ideal conditions, my phone reached 60 Mbit/s and my computer 30 Mbit/s. With moderate interference, my phone is 40 Mbps and my computer is 5-10 Mbps. With heavy interference my phone could drop to 10Mbps and my computer <5Mbps and often lose connection altogether. (Note: Slight interference was caused by Bluetooth devices - even when Bluetooth was on for my computer - and other people in the house talking on the phone or computer. Heavy interference was caused by devices connected via a wireless USB dongle and when many other devices were used in my house). Since using the BrosTrend 1200 Wi-Fi antenna, my laptop connection is even better than my iPhone. I have a speed of 80-100 Mbps with no glitches and 25-50 Mbps with heavy glitches. I reduced the interference by using their long USB cable to move the antennas farther away from my computer so Bluetooth and USB dongles don't interfere as much. I also spent a few minutes running speed tests and playing with the angle of the antennas. For me, this was enough of a speed difference that I would encourage others to do the same. Please note that before I used Windows Update to update the driver and restart my computer I was getting <1Mbps. Therefore, update your drivers immediately after purchase. I've been using it for less than a week. If I run into any problems in the future I will update this review.
