Filter is located under the functional hood vent of the 2017 Mustang GT and drains rain
The filter is located directly under the functional hood vent on the Mustang GT 2017. Thus, the rain falls directly on the filter, which is NOT waterproof. Water entering the engine will destroy your engine and will not be covered under warranty. When I explained this to K&N, their response was to buy a $35 filter film that lasted 1 year and was only "waterproof" or to avoid riding in the rain. The top must be covered with a lid to prevent rain from entering the air intake. This is a serious bug that should be fixed by K&N.
