Review on πŸ”ͺ Japanese Whetstone GMN200: Optimal Sharpener for Finishing by Satish Greener

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Same or better, of course easier/more stable than JNAT

I bought this from another source but I'm bored so decided to review it here as well. I use this to finish my razors. Let's just say I have some really good JNATS, Ozuku, Shobudani etc and stopped using them after trying this stone. I have been honing for 3 years now and have done hundreds of honings. This gem put an end to my point dependency :). I do a simple progression of 1,000, 3,000, 8,000, 12,000, then 20,000 and consistently get the same or better than buttery smooth edges I've ever gotten from my best JNATS. It literally only takes 10 or 11 x strokes of the blade weight. Takes over half an hour of grinding and vigorously rubbing Tomo Nagura to form a slurry on hard JNAT. Yes, JNAT is more fun, but I just can't believe how good this perk is. It looks like the whiskers aren't there. You must get this stone to the full 12k max advantage, but you will be rewarded.
