The spring itself as far as affecting the movement of the bag is great. Rather than bouncing on impact the bag tends to almost bounce and in my opinion that makes training better as the bag's movement after impact is less predictable (I have a 100lb bag). My problem (and it's entirely my fault) is that I'm using a stand that's only 7 feet tall. Once I add this spring the bag gets too low for my 6ft height. Such a bummer because I like the difference the spring makes (which is a big difference) but it doesn't allow me to train properly as the top of the bag barely reaches eye level with the spring. So if you are thinking of buying this to use with a hanging bag suspended from an 8ft ceiling I highly recommend this. Unfortunately, if you're a medium-sized male with a heavy bag holder, this probably won't work for you.
