Heavy, reliable spring

This is a spring. It was designed to perform only two functions - stretch and recoil. I found it does the job as well as one would expect. Functionally, it's incredibly heavy and handles my heavy 100-pound bag with ease, even hanging my 145-pound body from the attachment straps. My bag has been hanging on the spring for about 2 months and I have worked with the bag many times but the spring looks and works just as good as the day I installed it.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • There are problems

Good spring, a little noisy.

This spring will hold a bag weighing just over 100 pounds (45.5 kg). However, this is a very noisy spring (jumping and squeaking). So I wrapped mine in duct tape and paracord and it fit pretty well. Overall I like the spring and it helps reduce the shaking of the heavy bag. PS Another comment I've read is the concern that a heavy sack might fly out when the end is open in the spring. I don't see what's going on this spring.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for support and durability
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

I originally chose a 150# spring on the 100# pocket ring thinking it would be better, but it turned out that the heavier spring didn't stretch well enough to accommodate the absorb most of the force. If you have a 100# bag, I definitely recommend the 100# nib. The 100# spring more than does its job and flexes well and compresses under weight. Don't worry about opening the bag when the ends of the spring are open.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • A few small things

Too strong for lighter heavy sacks

This is a great spring but I've switched back to a lighter spring rated for 100 lb sacks. The purpose of the spring is to provide a slight rebound that partially cushions the impact of the heavy bag pulling on the ceiling mount. This spring my 80 pound sack didn't bounce or bounce. It was too hard. This is better suited for heavy bags that can weigh over 120 pounds or so. If you have a lighter bag, I recommend another heavy pocket spring that Revain sells.

Ideal for transferring momentum.

Although it looks tiny in photos, this spring is extremely reliable and ready to use. I was concerned about its size and weight transfer from my 100 pound bag, but after getting it and installing it I have no more questions about it. I used it in combination with a ceiling mount and wanted something between the bag and the roof to transfer momentum. This spring has definitely done its job. It also doesn't stretch or sag, and the twisted holes at each end give me a sense of security that the…

LOVE this spring, just wish it was shorter.

The spring itself as far as affecting the movement of the bag is great. Rather than bouncing on impact the bag tends to almost bounce and in my opinion that makes training better as the bag's movement after impact is less predictable (I have a 100lb bag). My problem (and it's entirely my fault) is that I'm using a stand that's only 7 feet tall. Once I add this spring the bag gets too low for my 6ft height. Such a bummer because I like the difference the spring makes (which is a big difference)…
