I ordered this lamp for my wife's birthday because she always wanted a stylish lamp like this for the office. The first came and did not light up when touched. I checked the bulb in another lamp, it works fine. Something is wrong with the touch shifter. Revane quickly replaced the lamp and it arrived just before her birthday but didn't come on either. Very disappointed. I went to the local lighting store and bought a working lamp for twice the price. I think you get what you pay for. I was so disgusted I didn't even ask for a refund. Aside from not glowing, it looks fantastic. I'll probably just remove the touch circuit and just always turn it on and use the light switch on the wall. I shouldn't have made this a DIY project. Avoid this lamp! Paul
