A few sentences to describe this product would be very helpful. This cage is not metal but a hard nylon that looks like plastic. Both RIGHT and LEFT versions are available, but this direction depends on where the cage is installed. Mounted on the down tube (the slanted tube just behind the handlebars) the right cage releases on the right and the left version on the left when on the bike. When you mount it to the seat tube they reverse, the right one releases to the left and the left one to the right. They are opposites because the bosses are looking in different directions. So if you have two of these that fit into a bike triangle on a regular road or road bike and you want them to release on the same side, get one of each. Most water bottles will do fine for this, however smaller bottles may not fit exactly. and bottles that are too large may fit very tightly or not at all. It fits most "normal" bottles. Unlike metal cages, they do not need to be bent to tighten or loosen. Some have sanded the outside edge a bit to make it easier to remove. I have an ebike with a battery on the down tube which is the only bottle attachment point on the seat tube, the ledge is also slightly higher to clean the battery. The old-fashioned metal cages therefore make it very difficult to extract or place the bottle, especially when moving. They work fine. And look great. good price too.
