Review on Belkin F4U110Bt Thunderbolt Upstream Transfer and Charging for 3840X2160 by Jason Sechser

Good Dual Power Thunderbolt Dock that can be improved

This docking station accepts your regular laptop power supply via USB C and can then power your laptop at up to 60W, which is more than enough power for most laptops except for some of the latest Macbook Pros which can reach up to 90W. However, if you need to charge this, you can do it in reverse and charge this dock by turning it on using the laptop as the power source. This is a unique feature of this docking station as you don't need your own separate power supply to pass the laptop's power to peripherals. If you're looking at this, you probably know the difference between regular USB-C and Thunderbolt. The most important factor for me is that Thunderbolt 3 can power a pair of 4K displays at higher refresh rates like 60Hz, while regular USB-C maxes out at 30fps. 5-6 different displays at the same time, I play with different docks and have the opportunity to test them all while working hard from home during the Covid times. The core is relatively small but features USB A 2.0, USB A 3.2 Gen 2, USB C, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2, Ethernet and a 3.5mm audio jack. All in all, with a bus-powered internal motor and features, notably a good 60W bandwidth, this is a great docking station. The small footprint and small footprint make it ideally portable. Being dual powered, it's one of the first single cable docking solutions I've seen lately and I love it. The improvements I can think of are getting rid of the now useless USB A 2.0, adding a few more USB Cs and definitely going from 60W to 90W or more. A great start from Belkin for dual power docking stations and I'm sure we'll see more.
