I recently bought these to keep my shower drain from clogging. I've never used anything like this, but they looked pretty straight forward. I hadn't even opened the package when I had a minor accident where a paper towel was accidentally flushed down the toilet. Let me tell you, this toilet was pretty picky about flushing, and this paper towel swallowed it right away. The toilet just gurgled as I sank away. Then I noticed that the sink doesn't drain either, it gurgles more. I freaked out at how much a plumber could charge to fix this mess, especially when the toilet in the second bathroom also backed up and gargled me. Then I thought why not try some new plastic "snakes" and see what happens. Can't hurt. Wow! I ran over it and immediately caught a piece of paper towel. Then I turned it over so the curve of the snake was facing up and turned it over again and another piece of paper towel. Tried Flash and YES! Completely solved my mini nightmare. These things saved the day and I highly encourage you to keep a few on hand. I haven't even tried hair clogging a bathtub drain, but I have a feeling they'll do a good job with that too.
