We have a pear and we wanted to try making cider. The price was right for this guy. There are some things you need to know before you buy. 1) You have to make some blocks to help press on the fruit. They give you wood that makes contact, but you have to provide spacers. Dimensional scrap wood will do just fine. 2) You can buy something to shred fruit and if you have a ton of fruit you definitely should, but we ended up using a grater on a food processor and it worked great! 3) You should find a way to pinch it if you care about the surface it sits on. I screwed the legs to a 2x12 piece and then attached it to the post. Serious improvement. The thing works great! Amazing juice straight from our backyard. Kids love this process and it works exactly how you'd hope it would. With the above caveats in mind.
