The bracket is not directly attached to the back panel, but not so strong that it affects the product's intended function. The mounting screens appear to be custom sized (most household screens require a 3'16" or 1/4" diameter hole so I had to use some of the screens I had. The included instructions do not specify what size hole to drill.The screens provided were too big for a 3/16" hole and too small for a 1/4" hole.
