I bought this to replace a 2-in-1 grinder from OXO that was having trouble grinding the larger salt crystals like Himalayan salt. This Mixoo grinder is much easier to turn and does a good job of grinding the salt and pepper to whatever degree of fineness you want. You can adjust it with the black "propeller" on each end of the grinder.The two compartments are easy to identify for filling and grinding. The grinder came with two silver caps for each end, I assume to contain the little grains that always fall out and to make it look sleeker. I have to admit that we just threw them away because there's no way I'm going to fiddle with removing and replacing them each time I use the grinder. But that's just me. :-)Overall, I'm happy with my purchase. The grinder is nice-looking enough to leave it out on the table. It has a modern look that complements our kitchen appliances and having fresh ground salt and pepper enhances the flavor of my food. My personal peeve with it is that the salt comes out one end and the pepper the other, so there is some attention required to figure it out. My other grinder used the twist direction of the lid to select either pepper or salt and that seemed so much more obvious. But I'm sure I'm smarter than my grinder and will get used to this one. :-)
