This muffler is advertised as an SS design. BUT . The internals and end caps are stainless steel, but the outer shell is aluminized carbon steel. This muffler lasted less than 2 years due to galvanic corrosion. The outer part literally fell off where the stainless steel was pressed against the aluminized lid. The intake manifold also broke completely just behind the weld. If you want a silencer to last, get one made of stainless steel - all the details. Very bad choice of material combination. It might work in a warm, dry environment, but it didn't stand a chance in New England
