Cracked cups caused spills - all efforts were in vain

I bought these for the holidays as we have a toddler and small nieces and nephews. It was Thanksgiving and I was planning to use them for both Christmas and New Years. Several cups have cracked trying to put the lids on! I don't know if I had a bad batch or what, but I still got a few splatters. It was a disappointment. The lids are strong, but the cups are not.
