Holders are protective and essential. The cleaners are amazing. My husband got a cast iron skillet for Christmas. He has used the cast iron skillet countless times since then and the skillet is still pristine thanks to the cleaning products. Once he forgot the holder and burned his hand and pot holder, see photo. Since then he remembered how necessary they were and his hand was no longer burned and the potholder stayed in its current state. He's even put the pan in the oven a couple of times and the mount still keeps his hand and oven mitt from burning. Great product!
