This is a poorly made product. Despite the negative reviews, my wife and I bought this telescope for our son because at a certain moment we embraced the positive reviews - many of the positive reviews criticized the negative reviewers for expecting too much from a telescope designed for beginner is intended. That seemed reasonable to us at the time, so we bought the Barska Starwatcher thinking we were getting a good entry-level telescope at a reasonable price. It was a big mistake.
