Now I have three of these majestic hammocks in the back seat so I can spin them. My 56 pound dog loves her "place" in the back seat of my pickup truck. Like any other dog, mine sheds even though it's a short-haired mixed breed. The Majestic Hammock is easy to install and remove. Taking it off the back seat I find the seat is clean and hair free. The hairs I find are around the door and can easily be vacuumed off. There are also nose prints on the tailgate glass. :) The hammock can handle dirt, mud and water. It can be washed. I hang it on the fence and wipe it down or throw it in the washing machine when my wife isn't home. The hammock partially covers the space between the front bucket seats. This is a good feature if you want to prevent your pet from entering the front seating area while driving. I put my dog in harnesses that attach to the rear harness buckle. This not only serves as a safety device but also prevents the dog from reaching the front seat. Thanks to the gap between the front seats, I can still pet them at any time. The surface is neither soft nor flaky (waterproof), but my dog doesn't seem to mind. I have a pillow under the hammock. She likes the back so much that she sits there when the truck is parked in the driveway.
