Review on Renewed Seagate BarraCuda 5TB SATA 6Gb/s Internal Hard Drive - 2.5-Inch, 15mm (ST5000LM000) with 128MB Cache by Myrv Santamaria

I bought this drive to add to my HP SFF Workstation because I needed extra internal storage for backups but didn't need it for fast work. It wasn't a fast ride, but it worked. Well, about 1 year. I had a system that ran a deep virus scan on a drive using Norton. When I came back the system was frozen. The system wouldn't even boot (it wasn't a boot drive) with a 5TB Seagate drive attached. Unplugged and tried in an external USB dock. I turn it on, I hear the small USB device detect noise, but nothing good. I go to the diskmgmt interface on Win10 - the disk is not recognized. Rescanning causes the diskmgmt utility to hang. Tried driving upside down, sideways, etc. he's dead Time to restore data from other backups. Never again.
