Review on SANOXY_EXT SLIM CD_DVD Saxony External CD RW Writer by Matt Tebow

Typing this fails to get this external USB DVD/CD drive to work. I am using Windows7 Professional 2GB and 350GB HD in an Atom branded netbook. I connect both cables (USB and USB to round plug) to the netbook. ready to use. I go to the file menu list and all it shows is my drive (C). When I restart my computer, the boot process hangs during the POST cycle. When I unplug the USB DVD/CD and restart the computer, it boots fine. If I can't get this thing to work, I'm sending it back. The jury has not yet decided on this purchase. didn't recognize CD/DVD, didn't work. Or at least when entering Disk Management in Windows 7 Pro, there were no items to click to make changes. I inserted a music CD and Windows Media Player started. I always use the VLC media player as the default player. I restarted a couple of times, put the DVD in, went into explorer and told it to play the DVD with VLC media player. This was the first time the device played a DVD. The USB CD/DVD is called Teac DV-28E-V. After playing parts of the DVD, I ejected it and inserted a music CD. This time he reproduced it. As for newer drivers, I'm using the latest drivers. will hold and play with the device. Maybe in a few weeks the Atom netbook will love its USB CD/DVD. Who knows the result :-) Thanks for reading this fiasco.
