Typing this fails to get this external USB DVD/CD drive to work. I am using Windows7 Professional 2GB and 350GB HD in an Atom branded netbook. I connect both cables (USB and USB to round plug) to the netbook. ready to use. I go to the file menu list and all it shows is my drive (C). I bought this because I got a new computer without a floppy drive. I used it to rip my CDs onto my new computer. It works well if you have to wait an hour for it to work. It took a very long time for the drive to be recognized on my computer and turned on. Maybe it's my computer, but considering it's new it's unlikely. I agree with other readers, maybe a bit late as I bought 2 devices. I got the same drive a few years ago and they have each worked with decent performance as a DVD player on my iMAC for about 1 year. These models bought last week can hardly perform the DVD menu reading function.
