I bought this because I got a new computer without a floppy drive. I used it to rip my CDs onto my new computer. It works well if you have to wait an hour for it to work. It took a very long time for the drive to be recognized on my computer and turned on. Maybe it's my computer, but considering it's new it's unlikely. The drive made some pretty scary noises when the disc was spinning and I felt like it was scratching my CDs at times. Luckily this was not the case! But if you have a scratch on the disc, forget it because this device won't read it, which is very annoying. I honestly would have spent a little more money on a better drive. It did the job in the end, but I really wouldn't recommend it. It's just not convenient and takes forever to fully boot a CD or copy.
