I bought this because I wanted to track my ring size over time. It seems a bit big because my finger size was comfortable between 5.5 and 6 so I ordered a 5.75 ring from the jeweler and it was snug than the 5.5 I tried on. The only other downside is the ease of use because if you want a middle size you have to take off all the rings beforehand instead of putting a clasp between the rings so you can easily access just one size. I could leave the rings on the strap, but if you want to try on a size for a day or two, it's easier to take that size off the strap, hence the annoying problem of having to remove all the sizes that lead to your desired size.
