Review on Superwinch 1331200 UT3000 Roller Fairlead by Troy Simpson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent wind. Better than great customer service.

TI bought this winch to pull my mobile scooter up the ramp and into the side door of my van. The winch is great, but I liked the remote control. However, Superwinch is an incredible company with a serious focus on customer service. During two years of operating the winch, the toggle switch on the remote control failed 3 times. Every time I called Superwinch, they sent me a new control module and wired remote, even after the warranty expired. Last week the remote failed for the fourth time (again the winch is great. There is no remote). I wrote a lovely email to Superwinch explaining that I am a disabled American who needs a reliable winch to pull the scooter out of the van. I explained that it's annoying when you go shopping and when you come back the remote has gone off again and I can't get my scooter in the van. Today, about five days after I sent that email, Mike from Superwinch called me to say he was sorry I was having issues and had sent me a brand new Superwinch of the same capacity but one had sent another design. He said that the problems I had were unlikely to happen again. It's been a full year since my old winch went out of warranty. I am shocked. It's rare to get this kind of customer service, but Superwinch has proven to me on numerous occasions that they take their commitment to customers very seriously. They should have another five star customer service choice on this Revain site as Superwinch gets a five plus from me for sure. At 77 years old I have bought many things from many companies in my life and few of them have treated me with such respect and care. Thank you SuperWinch, you are the best! I bought this as a cheap and easy way to fit my mobile scooter into the side doors of our Chevy Express and it worked great. I had to build a shelf for this and then attach the shelf to the wall of the van. I bought a Revain aluminum ramp and an AGM battery for jump starting at an auto parts store. I took the battery because it fits nicely between the seats and can be charged by plugging into the van's 12 volt outlet. That means I never have to remove the battery. For just over $300, I have a safe, easy, and quick way to get on and off the scooter. This winch will pull many times the weight of the scooter but I bought it because it came with a mounting plate, an upgraded remote control and was easy to use. Assembly. I installed it, connected it to the battery and the scooter, it worked perfectly the first time. This winch will save my wife and my back. No more lifting. We love this wind! It is now April 2015 and the control module on the winch has failed twice. In both cases the winch wouldn't recede and I couldn't get my scooter out of the van. This is a great inconvenience. Both times the company was very responsive and sent me the control box on top of the winch free of charge and the problem was fixed. The winch works fine but the controller is suspect. This is a great service that will encourage me to do business with them again and recommend them to others. However, I think the company is better off figuring out what's causing the control module to fail. Knowing what I'm doing now I would buy from Superwinch again just not this particular winch.
