also great price for towing accessories and winches

Works as it should, great price. To update. It's been over a year now, I've been using it for 2 seasons, I use it to hoist a full size snow blower (600lbs) onto my Bronco and haul logs and stuff around my property. About a month after I bought it it started behaving, neither up nor down, very intermittently but it hurts when you plow. A few months later the installed junction box needed replacing and broke where the remote cable plugged in. Superwinch sent me a replacement and it worked fine…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Little things

Incorrect cable routing leads to cable jams.

Unsafe scrap. I think the cable routing might be too narrow for the width of the winch. On the very first attempt to coil the cable, the cable slipped off the end of the (too narrow) cable guide and got caught at the other end. In this case, the winch is completely useless - the cable does not roll in or out. Don't be the last person in the parking lot when carrying a winch. I had to disassemble it completely to get the cable out. The photo shows two bends in the cable. I no longer use this…

  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I don't really like it, everything is fine

Great for rolling the truck into the garage with ease!

What a relief! Now we can roll our retractable camper (on a 4 wheel cart) into our very tight garage very easily. It was VERY hard to push and get the cart wheels rolling over the slight bumps in the garage. It was also difficult to keep the camper straight which was a problem due to the very narrow opening of the garage door. Trying to push a little uphill was too tiring for both of us. This winch works great! One of us controls the remote control and the other lets the camper roll straight…

Ideal for loading and unloading a race car!

Disclaimer: I've only used it twice so far - I rolled my 2500lb race car off a trailer in the morning and then put it on the trailer at the end of the day. Nice . That's probably the best hundred dollars I've spent in a long time. I connected the UT3000 to a 2" mount that snaps into a 2" receiver that I welded to my open car trailer. The perfect detachable solution for loading and unloading my race car. Much safer than turning on and off as I can level the car and move it slowly while observing

decent but not great: external accessories

I bought this to use my homemade log arch that I carry behind my quad to transport log length wood to my processing area. The purpose of the winch is to pull the logs up to the arch and lift the logs off the ground for transport. I quickly learned that you have to be VERY straight forward about what you want your winch or cable to spool. When this happens, getting the cord out is the BIGGEST headache! It was twice, live and learn. Unfortunately, with very little use, the bolts/nuts that attach…

Installed it in the front of my 10ft open trailer and used it to load heavy items. A small part fell out (parts were removed) so I called the company and they were great. They sent me a new part which I received a few days later. I love it and they back their guarantee. Buy with confidence. A few months later: This winch failed a second time with the same symptoms as before. Also, I had a lot of trouble releasing the free play and letting the spool spin. On the last try I broke the plastic…

Good for the money but not a superstar

I have just received my Superwinch UT3000. While I didn't expect this winch to be bulletproof as priced, I do expect it to be useful. After unpacking the winch and hooking it up to a 12 volt battery, I tested it prior to installation. Nothing is more frustrating than completing the installation only to find your project has failed and then coming back to see if you did something or if it was broken to begin with. I'm happy to say that everything worked as it should. I then disassembled the…

Slow and Steady: Winding

I installed this on my 10ft trailer. I fabricated and welded an additional mounting plate on the front of the trailer to mount the winch. I mainly use this for lawn mowers and small tractors that don't work to drive them onto a trailer. I had no problems and it pulls everything I need. A big benefit for me and the main reason I bought this particular winch is that it uses the same controls as my 8000lb Suerwinch on my car trailer so I don't have to carry different controls for two winches. To…

Excellent wind. Better than great customer service.

TI bought this winch to pull my mobile scooter up the ramp and into the side door of my van. The winch is great, but I liked the remote control. However, Superwinch is an incredible company with a serious focus on customer service. During two years of operating the winch, the toggle switch on the remote control failed 3 times. Every time I called Superwinch, they sent me a new control module and wired remote, even after the warranty expired. Last week the remote failed for the fourth time…
